In order to achieve uniformity and lower the thickness of the metal, metal stock is passed between one or more pairs of rolls during the rolling metal forming process to create cold rolled steel. The procedure is known as cold rolling if the metal being rolled is being rolled at a temperature lower than its recrystallization temperature.
